Artist Statement

Over the years, since I started drawing, I have always considered my artwork a different version of myself. Mainly because when I was asked why I don’t write out my personal story, I always say it’s hard to put certain things into words. I feel that when I draw or paint a character or scene, it tells more of a story over than attempting to spell it out to the audience. But, I like to hear everyone else’s interpretation of the piece, both the negative and the positive. It’s interesting to me to see how other people can have a different perspective that is similar or completely different compared to what I have envisioned initially. Yes, negative comments hurt, but they happen regardless. Not everyone can be pleased by the vision(s) provided by my world(s).
